This Wooden Bearing Block is the easy way to start a traditional Bushcraft Friction fire using the Hand or Bow Drill Method.
Simply shape the end of your spindle into a cone to fit into the bearing block and using the Cord provided, thread it through the block and down so you have a thumb loop either side. Insert your thumbs and rub the stick with your palms until you have produced that valuable ember.
For the bow drill method, simply shape the stick to fit into the bearing block and place your hand ontop pushind down on the stick. Use the Bow in the same was. No friction is applied at the top as the stick inserted in the bearing is just going round and round.
