Oilskin Tarps

Ok, you’ve spoken and we’ve listened.

By many customer request we will now be doing Oilskin Tarps in sizes 7’x7’ & 8’x8’’ only. (Anything over this would require an additional centre strip resulting in 2 top seams)

Both 7’x7’ and 8’x8’ tarps will only have one central seam, please see picture.

We’ll put 4 reinforced corner points using a 20oz thick waterproof black polyester fabric, 6 edge points with strong webbing strap edge loops around them. The ridge line which is quadruple stitched using a strong flat seam stitch using strong UV stable upholstery thread, will have 5 anchor points, 1 at each end and 3 in the middle which will have a lower and higher choice line setting for if you like it set differently.

As of May 2021, We’ve also added 4 more anchor strap loops, 2 on each side totalling 19 webbing straps in total.

Weight including oilskin bag approx:

7’x7 - 2.12Kg
8’x8’ - 3.46Kg (packed size approx 27cm x 36cm x 10cm)

All tarps will be made with our Oilskin (which some people call waxed cotton, but its actually not, its a wet look oilskin made by traditional methods) which is a drill cotton 12oz weight impregnated with an Antique Wax treatment giving it a wet look. We won't be making these tarps in our dry waxed canvas as tbh they'll just be too heavy.

Tarps will include a lovely drawstring Oilskin Bag to keep it in.

Reproofing only with Barbour’s Thorn Proof Wax Dressing (which is in a tin) We don’t sell the wax, we just thoroughly recommend it.
